Trevor Noah sure looks like a black person. Why is he not pointing out the racist attacks on Asians ALL committed by his race? Why is he refusing to point this out. If one white person attacks anybody and that person is wearing a MAGA hat he would point that out.
Crimes against Asian people has been just as old as crimes against other race groups like Native Americans, Hispanics, and Blacks. Trump's pandemic of hate has unfortunately hurt so many people. However, those people who have been marginalized in America should be taking to the streets to stop racist hate in any form. A Black person taking a part in hurting another race because they are not the target for the moment is ignorance at its best. Why aren't the local medias given this as much attention as the Derek Chauvin murder of George Floyd? In the words of Rev. Sharpton, "take your knee of hate off Asian people!" As a person of color, I say ASIAN LIVES MATTER!!!!!!

I'm planning to visit US as a tourist after this pandemic but I'm now scared. I mean, racism has def escalated in the US. And it's sad that there are people who just watch these incidents happen to Asians.

You can always tell when the person attacking Asians or any minority is not white. How you may ask. The media will not mention the race of the person. The media only mentions the race of the person committing the attack when that person is white. The vast majority of these verbal and physical attacks are being committed by other minorities (blacks and Hispanics). I have been to many Asian countries, most of them are wonderful people and would help anyone. I have an aunt from South Korea, an uncle from Japan , my wife is from the Philippines and I have friends from Vietnam, Thailand and China. The Chinese people or any Asian are not responsible for this virus. The Chinese government is responsible for this and the Chinese government should be the enemy to everyone around the world. The CCP can not be trusted.

Here in Japan there are people who think that those who say they are offended by hate crime are the people who are causing all the confusion because they are just being victims of violence by other causes and not by racism. They say that aggressions against Asians are not because of racism but only because they are vulnerable to aggression. They still say that those who say they are offended by racism are the people who cause the polemics of racism. But I believe that people who think this way are people who have never suffered any kind of discrimination for their ethnicity in the long run.

The rise of racism and xenophobia in a country is an unmistakable mark of the decline of that nation. We saw exactly the same phenomenon in China. During its last imperial dynasty when China started on its sharp decline and when the western nations started to rise and dominate over China, China became more and more racist and xenophobic in the same way that the Americans are today. The growing racism and anti-westerner sentiment eventually grew into the infamous Boxer Rebellion.

The hotel manager did no wrong, oh come on. It's true, the virus started from China at that point in time and if the guests came from China, they have to be quarantined or refused from entry. It's just a precaution measure to protect the wider public. Now everyone irrespective of ethnicities can be a covid carrier. The Chinese did not bring covid to the US but the American travelers who returned from China or in contact with other infected travelers who did not quarantined themselves.
Why blame (ordinary) Chinese people who live in America... or anywhere in the world? The fault is solely on the Chinese Government for their mishandling of the virus etc. Plus, wasn't the Trump Administration informed 3 months beforehand that COVID-19 might become serious, but they did nothing... all the way until 2-4months into the pandemic? How repulsive. Only the lowest, morally vacuous element of society would attack the elderly, to say nothing of racism towards anyone, including Asians/Asian-Americans. But here we are. 05March 2021 - Racism existence way long time back, but it escalated even further and higher due to the Covid19. So Asians, kindly do be very careful when you’re out of your home. I know that it is ironic to be in that situation living in your own home country just being Asian looking. Targeting at the elderly, my goodness, I am devastated by such behavior.

I hope that these kinds of incidents will further awaken what has seemingly been an increasing change within the Asian communities from the kinds of abhorrent racism that existed, in my experience, for decades in those communities throughout the country. My understanding is that so much of it is rooted in a desire to be seen as part of the dominant group in this country by disassociating themselves from those people who are seen as less than or second-class. Existing within the mentality of being the grateful "model minority".
